Vodafone, the world’s largest mobile operator by revenue, has announced that it will start selling the iPhone in Britain after O2’s exclusive deal with Apple expires.
“Vodafone and Apple today confirmed that they have reached agreement to bring iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS to the UK and Ireland in early 2010,” said a brief statement.
Vodafone, which said recently it had been hurt in Britain by not securing the iPhone deal, will join France Telecom’s Orange and Telefonica’s O2 in selling the phone in Britain. It will also sell the device in Ireland.
Orange yesterday said that it will start selling the iPhone by the end of this year.
