Apple may to be planning to incorporate processors based on Intel’s x86 architecture into the iPhone, strengthening previous rumors of the iPhone moving to Intel.
The Inquirer posted a slide from Intel’s presentation at CeBIT expo in Hannover, Germany showing the iPhone under the Moorestown platform (image below), the successor to the Silverthorne ultra-mobile PC platform. Apple was reported to be planning a move to Intel’s Silverthorne for the iPhone.
A move to Intel’s Moorestown processors for the iPhone would not happen before 2009.
