iPad to feature 30,000 free books?

imageThe iBookstore for the iPad will reportedly feature a catalog of 30,000 free public domain eBooks offered by the Gutenberg Project.

According to the GP’s website, their “books were previously published on paper by bona fide publishers and digitized by us with the help of thousands of volunteers.”

Tittles like Dracula by Bram Stoker, Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka and The Communist Manifesto by Friedrich Engels and Karl Marx are available now and new ones are added every day.

Alexander Vaughn reports for App Advice that while New York Times Bestselling eBooks will go for about $10 on the iPad, Apple choose to specifically include the Gutenberg Project on the platform.
