iPad pre-orders on March 7th?

An inside source is telling us that Apple will begin taking orders for the iPad during the week of March 7th.  Apple is looking to gauge interest by determining the amount of pre-orders ‘nearly three weeks before it ships’ to help guide its manufacturing efforts. While we heard rumors of the week of March 7th, this places a solid guess on March 7th.

Analysts are already anticipating extremely high demand for the forthcoming device with demand actually outstripping supply for several weeks.

The latest rumors we’ve heard are that Apple will begin shipping the device on Saturday, April 3rd.
