Analyst Gene Munster is convinced the boss himself will be unveiling the latest iPods at next Wednesday’s Apple media event. CNN reports that Munster, of investment banking firm Piper Jaffray, predicts that investors are unlikely to be impressed by this fall’s update because “as iPod growth slows…the segment becomes less of an investable theme.”
Though historically less credible than Munster, Shaw Wu, analyst for investment bank Kaufman Bros., is predicting that senior VP of worldwide marketing for Apple, Phil Shiller, will host the event. Wu asserts that the new iPods will feature enhanced storage capacity as well as more affordable prices.
Both analysts agree that the latest iPods will be introduced at Wednesday’s event.
