Sources have reported to AppleInsider that Apple is planning an “industrial design overhaul” for the plastic 13” MacBook. In the first restructuring of the machine in over 3 years, the new models should be thinner, lighter and have improved internal architecture.
Sales of the entry-level machine have been consistent, prompting Apple’s leadership to invest more in the product’s development. The company plans to make the MacBook more affordable by “using lower-end components and previous generation Core 2 Duo chips.”
