Apple to cut iMac prices this fall?

imageAppleInsider reports that Apple plans to cut prices for the iMac when it introduces new models of its all-in-one desktop line this fall.

The company reduced prices for its notebook lineup by $100 to $300 from the 13-inch to the 17-inch unibody MacBook Pros. The iMac price cuts are expected to be around the 7 - 10% mark.

The Mac maker is reportedly determined to increase its share of the personal computer market during the worst economic backdrop in the company’s history.

Taiwan’s DigiTimes today reported that Quanta’s notebook shipments are accelerating “due to increasing orders from Apple.”
