Taiwanese site DigitTimes claims that Innolux, the panel-making subsidiary of the Foxconn Group, will be the initial supplier of touch panels for the rumored Apple tablet with Wintek becoming an additional supplier later on.
According to their sources, Foxconn’s optical glass processing subsidiary G-Tech Optoelectronics will provide a glass strengthening process for the 10-inch screen.
The sources added that optical film maker Wah Hong Industrial, another Taiwan-based firm, has secured component orders for the tablet.
Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) will be the manufacturer of the device.
Apple is expected to announce its “iTablet” in January with analysts predicting shipments to start in March.
