According to DigiTimes, Apple plans to delay the launch of its tablet PC from March to the second half of 2010 as it has decided to make some component changes and launch a new model.
Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry), Quanta Computer and Pegatron Technology are claimed to be the manufacturers of two tablet PC models. One has a 10.6-inch TFT LCD while the new one will have a 9.7-inch OLED panel.
The high cost of the OLED panel, which could bring the cost of the device close to $2000, is said to have been a factor behind the delay. The 10.6-inch LCD model is expected to be priced in the $800-$1000 range.
