“In addition to iPad, Apple is set to launch upgraded MacBook Pro and iMac models in the first half of 2011, according to sources from upstream component makers,” reports DigiTimes.
“The sources noted that Apple plans to launch at least four upgraded MacBook Pros as well as an iMac that features a new panel size and a price point for the mainstream market.”

According to DigiTimes, Sintek Photronics has sent samples of projected capacitive touch panels to Apple for a touchscreen iMac.
Citing industry sources, DigiTimes claims that Sintek Photronics has a “good chance” of becoming a supplier for a touchscreen iMac. The Taiwanese publication describes the basic composition of such touchscreen panels:
The new iMac is rumored to have a good vertical and horizontal viewing angle, and its projected capacitive touch panel will adopt a one-glass solution, which integrates the touch sensor and cover glass, to reduce thickness and weight.
LOOPRumors received information back in June that Apple was planning to develop a hybrid OS, equipped with both Mac OS X and a touch interface for iOS, into its next iMac.

Tuesday, Apple rolled out a new line of iMac desktops with Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 processors and ATI Radeon HD 5750 graphics.
The new iMac features a 4GB 1333 MHz memory expandable to 16GB, an integrated memory controller, and an SD card slot that now supports the SDXC format for high capacity storage cards.

Apple is expected to announce new iMacs and Mac Pros tomorrow, along with a new 27” Cinema Display.
“We’ll have much to talk about, what with the new Mac Pros (finally, right?), speed-bump iMacs, and the gorgeous new 16:9 27-inch Cinema Display that Apple might hypothetically release tomorrow,” John Gruber writes for Daring Fireball.
Gruber further asserts that Apple could unveil the Magic Trackpad tomorrow, which was approved by the FCC last week.
