The Wall Street Journal’s AllThingsDigital column reiterates reports that Apple is planning a media event that will take place at the end of this month.
John Paczkowski claims that the event will be held on Wednesday, January 27 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. The company has used this facility for such events in the past.
Other sources previously said that the event will occur on Tuesday, January 26.
Apple is widely expected to introduce a tablet device that may be called iSlate according to MacRumors.

Apple is said to have rented a stage at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco for several days during the last week of January, according to the Financial Times’ tech blog.
The people familiar with the matter believe that Apple will use the venue to make a major product announcement on Tuesday, January 26th.
The company last used this venue in September, when Steve Jobs made his first public appearance to introduce new iPods after a six-month medical leave.
Speculation over an Apple tablet computer has been growing over the past few months and appears to be reaching a peak with sources suggesting a January announcement.
Shares of Apple are currently at an all-time high of $209.04 per share as excitement builds over the expected release of an “iTablet”.

Apple has posted a video stream for today’s media event during which the iPod line was updated.

AllThingsDigital reports that multiple music industry sources have been told by Apple that a keynote event is planned for the week of September 7.
The exact date and of the event is still unclear although the company usually holds such events and announcements on Tuesdays, which would suggest a September 8 date.

Apple is not attending CES 2010 according to the Consumer Electronics Association’s Jason Oxman.
The VP of industry affairs said that “Apple is a member of the trade association, but they are not signed up as an exhibitor for CES.” Oxman also confirmed that the organization has invited Steve Jobs to speak at the event but has yet to receive a response.
A recent Wall Street Journal article claimed that Apple would be attending the show.
