image A shooting took place at 10:15 this morning at the Arlington, Virginia Apple Store on Clarendon Avenue.  The latest info we have in is that victim was a mid-twenties female employee of the store who was allegedly shot by a Black male also in his mid-twenties.

MobileMe users: beware of phishing scheme.

imageFraudulent emails are reaching MobileMe customers, according to French Apple news site MacBidouille.

A user reported receiving an email requesting customer information update to avoid interruption of service. The email link points to mobile-apple.com, a site clearly not affiliated with Apple as the real MobileMe site is me.com. The page then asks users to provide updated bank account information.

AT&T customers experiencing voicemail delays.

image Some AT&T customers have reported delayed voicemail delivery, with one saying that it may take several days for voicemail messages to appear, PC World reports.

The issue is particularly inconvenient for iPhone users as this affects the Visual Voicemail feature. Many customers have been voicing their displeasure over the AT&T’s service and the fact that it is the only iPhone carrier in the United States.

iPhone OS 3.1 to bring new video and Voice Control features.

image Apple seeded the iPhone OS 3.1 and iPhone SDK 3.1 to developers yesterday and users have found new features.

Among the new features is a new APIs (Application Programming Interface) that will enable developers to use the video editing function as part of their third party apps, leading us to expect a flurry of apps with video capability.

Apple Ranks at Top of Greenpeace Electronics Guide.

image An updated version of Greenpeace’s Guide to Greener Electronics praises Apple for their continued efforts to develop environmentally-friendly products. The guide compares various companies based on factors such as the amount of toxins built into their machines. These toxins pose a threat when accumulated over time in animals and humans during their production, use, and disposal.

O2 UK: iPhone 3G S sold out.

image O2 has run out of the iPhone 3G S in the United Kingdom, according to the company’s iPhone Stock Update page.

The mobile service provider said it has temporarily run out of stock online, over the phone and in stores due to “phenomenal demand”.

Additional stock is expected to be available at the end of the week while the iPhone 3G 8GB is available everywhere.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Apple stores are showing solid iPhone 3G S availability while AT&T stores nationwide are on backorder for Apple’s latest smartphone model.
