ZD Net’s Jason O’Grady claims that Apple will announce a Tablet Mac in the fall of this year in ‘The Apple Core’ blog.
He says that the 12 or 13-inch tablet will run the full Mac OS X, have a slot loading SuperDrive, an “iPhone-type” GPS chip and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
O’Grady believes that it is most likely to be released in the September or October time frame and that his source has been reliable in the past.
LoopRumors was among the first to suggest that the a Tablet Mac was under development by Apple.

If Apple didnt bother putting a disk drive in a full sized notebook (Macbook Air) then why would they try cramming one into an even smaller tablet?
The MacBook Air is not a full sized notebook…
But I do agree, that its unlikely they would put it in.
How on earth could you guys have been “among the first to suggest that a Tablet Mac was under development by Apple”?? LOL. That rumor has been around since lonnnnnng before LoopRumors.
Why would Apple ever do this. Tablets in the windows realm aren’t selling that well anyway. Unless Apple can make one light years better than the PC folk they would be better off sticking with an ipod touch. It is the device of the future not a tablet. I can’t wait until the ipod 2.0 software comes out. It will be a game changer.
