Rogers offers 6GB data plan for $30/month.

Following heavy public pressure, Canadian operator Rogers Wireless has decided to launch a promotional data plan to iPhone buyers.

Customers who sign up to a three-year contract with the company will pay $30/month for 6GB of data as opposed to the $100/month previously charged.

The offer is available until August 31st.

The following Rogers Plus stores in these cities will open their doors at 8:00 a.m. (all times local) on Friday, July 11 for advance purchases of the Apple iPhone 3G:
Toronto: 112-10 Dundas Street East
Montreal: 1015 rue St. Catherine Ouest
Ottawa: 690 Bank Street
Halifax: Unit 265, 7001 Mumford Road
Calgary: 5244 Falsbridge Gate, NE
Vancouver: 2097 West Broadway

Apple’s iPhone 3G will debut in 21 countries this Friday.

Hahahaha - seriously, fuck Rogers. They have a monopoly on GSM in Canada, and need a little more pressure to lower prices.

... and yet in Switzerland, the top contract of ~100USD a month only gets you 1Gb of data. Which doesn’t get reported anywhere.
