New MacBook to include glass trackpad, due in September?

ComputerWorld claims to have received new information regarding Apple’s new line of MacBooks.

The report indicates that the new MacBooks will be thinner than the current MacBook and MacBook Pro models and slightly more rounded with similarities to the MacBook Air.

The case will be made out of one piece of aluminum, making it eco-friendly. The trackpad will be made of glass and support multi-touch and the use of gestures. The screen, however, will not support multi-touch.  Finally, the report pinpoints the last week of September as the new notebook line’s release date.

Rumors of a MacBook Touch have been circulating since Apple’s financial results call, and while this only represents an update to Apple’s traditional line of notebooks, the release of such a product is still a strong possibility seeing as a tablet Mac has long been rumored to be in the works.

makes a lof of sense to have a glass ‘ipod like’ touchpad which can double showing icons for special functions similar to the the art lebedev keyboard which user defined keys.

Other laptop companies have experimented with small second screen without much success though.

Cheers,

Mathias
