Microsoft released the Office for Mac 2008 12.1.1 update.

The update contains several improvements to enhance stability and performance and a number of bug fixes. For more information about this update, please visit this Microsoft support site. To download this update, visit this site.

Microsoft also released Open XML File Format Converter for Office 2004 for Mac. This tool allows you to convert Open XML files that were created in Office 2008 for Mac or Office 2007 for Windows so that you can open, edit, and save them in earlier versions of Office for Mac.
